One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.
Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on—and a complete jerk.
Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She’s stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel—something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.

I really enjoyed this book. Once I got into it I didn’t want to put it down. Fell in love with the characters. My only criticism would be the F word used so often took away from Jess rather than made him seem tougher! Not sure why it was used so often? But altogether a great book. Would love a sequel!

Every time I got a chance to read I took it! I had no idea the story was going to take so many twists and turns. I want more of this family.

This story tries for an “enemies to lovers” angle, but seemingly forgets to give any redemption arc in the middle. Jess doesn’t apologise for being an absolute jerk and harassing Gigi using his police position. He just expects her to be attracted to him and go out on a date after she repeatedly says no. He kisses her on their date after she again says no and tells him she doesn’t want to date him. Conflict is fine, but where’s the winning her over? It’s all good just because Gigi decides he’s attractive after all and the kiss she didn’t want made her horny? Aside from that, the relationship isn’t bad. Jess with Gigi’s daughter is very cute. Jess learning to cooperate with someone rather than act alone is good. His anger issues which make him yell at a 4 year old should have been dealt with better. Gigi has some past bad relationships that affect her, which is understandable. The drug danger plot is fairly believable and interesting, although it gets a bit too rushed and develops some holes in the end.

A novel that is riveting, this one has love, mystery, history and ethics in a Arizona resort town . The characters are so realistic that you want to scream with them laugh with them and cry with them. The sheriff meets a nurse and the read is on. I could not put it down. .Cuddos to the author . The setting is beautiful and the action is unrivaled.

    Great story!!!!
  • How do you rate a book that is only 57 pages long??!!😡

I could have liked this “free” book, but it was basically a click-bait. I57 pages and you can continue reading if you purchase the $4.99 sequel. No thank you.
  • Insanely good

Fantastic story. The chemistry between Jess and Gigi is combustible and burns up the pages. The banter between the alpha male, protective, sheriff and the tough as nails, single mom, nurse is so good and was definitely one of my favorite things about this book. The running back ground suspenseful themes was interesting and made this so much more than a romance (although nothing wrong with romance lol) all tired up with a nice HEA now.
  • Romantic, but could be better

I liked the premise of the story, and found the characters mostly believable. However there were two things that really bugged me about the plot. 1) Gigi had so much self doubt, but the fact that it all supposedly came from one encounter, even if it was after repeated contact with the one-night stand, seems a little far-fetched. No one with an otherwise healthy self-esteem would swallow what he said to her. To make that believable there should have been more backstory. 2) The fact that the guy given oxycodone and was still in pain, then given morphine that took effect immediately suggested the pills were placebos, and I have no medical background. The fact that Gigi was a nurse and that idea did not register blew holes in the logic of the rest of the story. But I did like that once Gigi and Jess got together they stayed together and worked through issues. And I also liked that it gave an HEA epilogue!
