Far more than a “business memoir,” What Are the Odds? is a raw, authentic account by a man many thought would never rise above his serial, addiction-fueled failures. Mike’s gripping narrative transports readers from his small-town tavern with its colorful cast of “Regulars” to Mexico and a drug deal gone awry. From Las Vegas casinos, where Mike won and lost fortunes as a professional gambler, to a jail-cell beatdown. From failed rehabs to his 20-year marriage, an ideal union decimated by addiction. And finally, to the redemption of the most shameful moment of his life.
An unvarnished account of the ravages of cocaine, crack, and gambling addiction, What Are the Odds? tells the improbable tale of how a small-town guy with a dream somehow made it a reality. More importantly, Mike opens up about the God who relentlessly chased him down, turning him from a casual believer to a passionate evangelist with an absolute, mathematical certainty that God is real.
What Are the Odds? will not only speak to entrepreneurs and those struggling with addiction, but also to anyone looking for a message of hope.

As a person growing up in Minnesota and experiencing a lot of similar situations as Mike and being blessed by the grace of God this book was powerful and you can actually feel your heart and mind opening up as you read his story and possibly reflect on your own life. Thank you Mike for sharing.
  • Unbelievable

Except it’s true. Mike’s story seems so improbable because of the far fletched death defying “miracle” stories told in this book - but it is completely bathed in the raw human emotion that everyone can relate to.

"What Are the Odds" is Mike Lindell's inspiring autobiography, the story of how he descends into addiction but overcomes it, to beome a very successful businessman with a healthy spritual, family and emotional life. With unusual frankness, Lindell takes us through the highs and lows of an addict, giving us insights into the mindset which some of us have trouble understanidng, how a person can let a substance take over and ruin a life. Mike lost his money, lost a dream in which he had invested his money and heart, and at one point almost lost his life. He maturely and healthily takes responsibility for the choices that brought problems upon himself, but doesn't remain mired in the bad times. He is an overcomer and a thriver, and I recommend this book to anyone who loves an addict, anyone who loves a good book about achieivng dreams against the odds, and anyone who enjoys an inspiring book - period. Round the Red Lamp I am so thankful that I ran into this quirky gem by classic writer Arthur Conan Doyle! "Round the Red Lamp" is a book of interesting short stories, mostly concerning the life and practice of doctors during the 1800s. Some stories were particularly moving. It was quite fascinating to learn about practices back then, as well as how the scientific background of the doctors affected relationships and other aspects of their lives. I loved the humor, romance and suspense that were sprinkled through some of the stories, as well.
  • Inspirational and entertaining

What an amazing story of heartbreaking pain from addictions and the indomitable will and faith to overcome. Mike Lindell takes us through his incredible journey through crack and gambling addictions and the painful ramifications to his family and his own self respect. Despite the subject matter, Lindell creates a compelling narrative that makes the story a fascinating look at the perils of drugs, gambling, business and politics! Foremost it is a story of hope and faith for which I am most appreciative.
