In his daring and chilling first novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor draws us into a sinister labyrinth of political intrigue and international terrorism, serving up an explosive cocktail of unrelenting action as one man is pushed to the edge.

On the snow-covered slopes of Utah, the President of the United States has been kidnapped and his Secret Service detail massacred. Only one agent has survived—ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath. He doesn’t buy the official line that Middle Eastern terrorists are behind the attack and begins his own campaign to find the truth and exact revenge. But now, framed for murder by a sinister cabal, Harvath takes his fight to the towering mountains of Switzerland—and joins forces with beautiful Claudia Mueller of the Swiss Federal Attorney’s Office. Together they must brave the subzero temperatures and sheer heights of treacherous Mount Pilatus—where their only chance for survival lies inside the den of the most lethal team of professional killers the world has ever known…

I hope Thor’s books get better as they go.
  • Spy thriller by numbers

Entertaining but formulaic. I’m not sure yet if I’d recommend it to others but it was decent enough for me to try to the second book in the series (which I’ll be starting following the period at the end of this sentence).
  • Boring and simplistic.

I actually could not finish this book. I just finished re-reading a Gray Man novel when I tried this book. The writing, especially the overlong dialogues when two characters are arguing, drags on and on. The tedious explanations of every detail also forced me to start skipping 3-4 pages at a time, hoping to get through this book. But no, I just couldn’t do it. There must be something that people like about these books, lots of good reviews and lots of books written, it just wasn’t for me.
  • Very well written

This is another amazing novel written by Brad Thor. It is suspenseful, action packed, and will make you never want to put the book down.
  • The firs and last I will read

    By Matt1859
This book was slow and predictable. With a heavy dose of over explanation at every turn. Won’t be reading anymore of the series.
  • Lions of Lucerne

Not particularly well written. The dialogue does not fit the emotion that is trying to be conveyed portrays unprofessional behavior of the agents. Fiction is fiction but this could not hold my attention.
  • Awesome read!!
